What Is An Extended Service Contract?

Why Should I Buy an Extended Service Contract?

Things break, and unfortunately, we don't have that crystal ball to predict if a vehicle will be problem-free; however, there are options available to protect you.

An extended service contract is like medical insurance for your vehicle.  It offers peace of mind for unexpected repairs and can offset the financial burden of a mechanical breakdown.

Advantages

Financial peace of mind.  An extended service contract can minimize the impact of an extensive repair on your budget.

Saves money.  Extended service contracts purchased in advance offer protection against future parts and labor price increases.

Pays for itself.  If your vehicle needs a lot of costly repairs, the extended service contract could pay for itself in just a few years.

Increased resale value.  Many extended service contracts are transferrable if you sell your car, raising the value you can ask for your vehicle.

Ask your sales consultant about what plans and options we offer for your new vehicle.

Disadvantages

It may go unused.  You may never need to use the extended service contract you purchased, as painful as it is to hear.

Cost.  Some extended service contracts can cost a couple of thousand dollars or more-especially for high mileage and luxury vehicles.

Limits where you get your car serviced.  Some shops will not honor extended service contracts-all plans purchased at Terry Clearance Center are honored at all our facilities.

Essential maintenance is not covered.  Routine maintenance, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and brakes, are not covered by any extended service contract.

What is an extended service contract going to cost?

There is no blanket answer for how much an extended service contract will cost you.  When looking at the available options, many factors determine your total cost, such as the vehicle, mileage, how long of a plan you select, and the number of miles you wish to purchase.  High mileage vehicles and things such as turbos, diesel engines, and performance modifications can also add to the cost of your extended service contract.

Our dedicated sales professionals will be glad to answer any questions you may have and provide more information to help you decide what option is best for you and your new vehicle.
